Mario Rinke

Mario Rinke is structural engineer and construction
historian, specialized in early reinforced concrete and
timber construction. In his transdisciplinary research
he focuses on the transformation processes of
structural materials and structural thinking. He is now
senior researcher at the architecture department at
ETH Zurich where he is also a lecturer since 2011 as
he is at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences
and Arts since 2009. In 2013, he finished his PhD
with Prof. Joseph Schwartz at the ETH Zurich. After
working as a structural design engineer in London and
Zurich, he runs his own office regularly participating in
competitions and studies. Mario is a founding member
of the International Association of Structures and
Architecture (IASA) and regularly publishes books.
