The Shedhall is Alive

We see an iconic value in the shed hall, which we want to amplify. As a strategy to save the building from destruction, we introduce housing as primary use. The rational structure, which is completely healthy, the high ceilings and the possibility to introduce light from above, allow for new typologies. We introduce a secondary grid to the appartements which creates rooms without predefined use. The inner urban planning includes alleys for access, which open up into squares for public uses, and shared courtyards which offer an element of communality.
